An exciting opportunity to get involved in the largest ever study of anxiety and depression
The Research team is launching a new project at Livewell Southwest looking at Genetic Links to Anxiety & Depression – ‘GLAD’.
The study will explore risk factors in people who have experienced depression and/or anxiety, including those with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, OCD or related disorders. It’s the largest ever UK study aiming to recruit at least 40,000 people aged over 16 who have experienced either depression or anxiety at any point in their life, irrespective of being diagnosed or receiving treatment. The Research team is launching a new project at Livewell Southwest looking at Genetic Links to Anxiety & Depression – ‘GLAD’.
Yangqiu Wang, Mental Health Research Nurse at Livewell Southwest, said “Participants can be both staff and members of the public who meet the criteria for eligibility.
“The study has been designed to be particularly accessible, with a simple online survey to complete and then a saliva sample being sent off. Saliva kits are available from the Livewell Southwest Research team or can be sent directly to participants’ home address.
“People can sign up directly at www.gladstudy.org.uk – please ensure you select Livewell Southwest when asked where you heard about the study – or can contact the Research team on to ask any questions they may have. The Research team will also be available if staff would like us to visit them to help sign up.”
