Livewell Southwest CIC has appointed Dr Soni Bhate to the new role of clinical director for mental health.
Working as a consultant psychiatrist since 2008, Dr Bhate has extensive of knowledge of mental health.
Throughout her career Dr Bhate has built up vast experience in the management of medical staff, the implementation of local and national policies and the training and education of junior staff. Currently, Dr Bhate is also the Royal College of Psychiatrists Trust representative for Livewell Southwest and so is well-sighted on national issues regarding psychiatry.
Dr Mike Cooper, Livewell Southwest’s medical director, said: “This new role is integral to the contribution, development and implementation of Livewell Southwest’s strategic direction in regard to the provision of mental health services and I know that Dr Bhate will make a valuable contribution.
“Working alongside the Mental Health Strategic Team and forming a part of the Senior Clinical Leadership Team, Dr Bhate will act as a voice for medical staff across mental health services. She will also work closely with me to lead our mental health services in line with the Wider Devon Sustainability and Transformation Partnership and through the closer system working with University Hospitals Plymouth.”
